Updated: Apr 15, 2025

This is my go-to ham recipe for Easter, and it's a guaranteed hit every single time! 🎉 Whether you're hosting a grand feast or an intimate gathering, this recipe will have your guests raving. I personally love a bone-in ham for that rich, savory flavor, but don’t worry—this mouthwatering recipe works perfectly with spiral-sliced ham too!

Maple-Glazed Orange Bourbon Ham

Ingredients

  • 1 (10- to12-lb.) Ham

  • 1 cup pure maple syrup

  • 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar

  • 3/4 cup orange marmalade

  • 1 cup fresh orange juice (from 2 large oranges), divided in half

  • 1/2 cup (4 oz.) bourbon

  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt

  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp. grated fresh ginger

  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking pan with heavy-duty aluminum foil.

  2. In a bowl combine the ingredients with half of the orange juice mix well.

  3. Place ham side ways in prepared pan. Brush with 1/4th of the brown sugar glaze. Turn ham over, and repeat process with an additional 1/4th of the glaze.

  4. Turn ham cut side down in pan. Pour remaining 1/2 cup orange juice into bottom of pan. Cover tightly with aluminum foil.

  5. Place in preheated oven for 1 1/2 hours. Uncover ham, and brush evenly with 1/3 cup of the glaze. Bake an additional 15 minutes.

  6. Brush with an additional 1/3 cup of the glaze. Place back in the oven with no foil at 400°F

  7. Bake until a thermometer inserted in thickest portion of ham registers 145°F, about 15 minutes. Remove from oven.

  8. Brush ham with remaining glaze and pan drippings. Let stand 10 minutes.

  9. Garnish ham with whole and sliced citrus.
