When we moved into our houses it was like stepping back into the seventies carpet palace which even extended into the kitchen 🤮. My husbands grandparents had changed a thing sense his great grandparents built it in 74. We couldn't renovate the upstairs right away so we finished the basement and moved in and lived their for a year and then moved upstairs and lived in it as is for a year and half and add another baby to the mix.

So this October we dove in head first into the remodel and moved back down to the basement and gutted the upstairs. Which was a feet of its own my husbands great grandpa installed things to never come out not only was the carpet glued down but also nailed down.

Thankfully my brother law helped my husband with a lot of the demo and grinding the floors down which was not an easy job they went through multiple tools landing on a wire cup brush on a drill which was very time consuming but worked the best.

The pony wall at the entry way was one of the first thing we knew need to go. Then we decided to build a pantry over the basement stairs to uses the wasted space and giving us better storage for all my baking essentials.

DIY Remodels are definitely are not for the faint of heart even with help it took almost two weeks for the demo to be complete but its defiantly worth it.
